Record high water outflows continue as efforts are made to drop the Lake Ontario water level.
According to the International Joint Commission, outflows at the Moses-Saunders Dam in Cornwall will be increased as much as possible until ice begins to form again on the St. Lawrence River.
As of Sunday, the Lake Ontario water level was 75 meters and remains well above the seasonal average.
The high inflows are expected to continue into the new year.
The International Lake Ontario-St. Lawrence River Board will continue to deviate from Plan 2014 and will look for any opportunities to remove additional water from the lake prior to the spring.
