Last minute shoppers in downtown Belleville Christmas Eve couldn’t believe
their ears when the clerk cashed them out Tuesday.
For the last three hours of the business day December 24, all of the purchases at the Front Dollar store were paid for by someone other than the customers themselves.
That someone was close neighbour Jamie Troke, owner of Ekort Realty.
Troke has picked up the tab on Christmas Eve for the past couple of years at Front Dollar.
The realtor has never publicized his efforts believing Christmas is a time to give and not get.
”It’s a great feeling to see the looks on people’s faces when they receive even a small gift by surprise. They are truly thankful and it’s my way of giving back to our neighbours downtown.”
