A generous donation from an auto dealership has put the Belleville Salvation Army’s annual Christmas Kettle Campaign over the top.
This morning (Friday), Dustin Boyer of Belleville Nissan presented the Army with a cheque for $15,202 pushing the total for the campaign up to $314,440.
The campaign’s goal was $300,000. Half of the dealership’s donation came from customers while half came from the dealership.
The Kettle Campaign is by far the Salvation Army’s biggest fundraiser and will pay for such things as free lunches, warm suppers during the cold months, emergency financial supports and food bank, all of which help serve the growing numbers of poor in the community all the year round.
