A busy Belleville intersection was the site of a rally during the noon hour today.
The protest, which drew people from as far away as Southern Ontario, was to send a message to MPP Todd Smith that needs-based austim programs not being available until the spring of 2021, a year later than originally stated, is too far away.
Organizer Sarah Daley told Quinte News their hopes have been dashed.
Daley says these programs are life-changing therapy.
Chants of “Todd Smith’s a liar” filled the air along with motorists honking in support of those lining the sidewalk and walking the intersection.
Daley says the support shown by participants and passing motorists gives them a ray of hope.
