A Tyendinaga Territory man has died after being hit by a vehicle on York Road just before 7 o’clock last night (Wednesday).
Tyendinaga Police say 49-year-old Vernon “Pete” Brant was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigation revealed that Brant was walking in the middle of the road when he was struck.
Alcohol or drugs were not involved and charges will not be laid.
York Road was closed for about 11 hours for an investigation but is now open to traffic.
Along with Tyendinaga Police, Mohawk firefighters, Hastings Quinte paramedics and OPP officers responded to the incident.
