The Bancroft Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is continuing to investigate a fatal single vehicle collision in the Highland Grove area, west of Bancroft.
The OPP responded to a report shortly after 2:00 p.m. on December 23, 2019 of a car in a ditch along South Baptiste Lake Road, near Bowers Point Road. The Bancroft Fire Department and Hastings County Paramedics also attended.
The driver, who was alone in the vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene and has been identified as James Benoit Conlin, 62-years old of Bancroft.
The initial investigation found that the car had been eastbound on South Baptiste Lake Road when it left the road on a curve and rolled over. The investigation is continuing.
