The Picton Pirates go into the Christmas break as the hottest team in the Provincial Junior “C” Hockey League’s East Tod Division.
Kurtis Wood scored at 1:22 of overtime to lift the Pirates over the Gananoque Islanders 4-3 to extend their winning streak to 8 games.
Khaden Henry scored twice. He has 25 goals in 28 games.
The streak has moved the Pirates one point behind third place Gananoque and Port Hope.
Picton is off until January 2nd when they host the Campbellford Rebels.
