As we continue to look back at 2019, we turn our attention to the Municipality of Tweed.
Mayor Joanne Albert told Quinte News one year ago, council’s main focus was the replacement of the Hawkins Bridge (Boundary Bridge), which was deemed unsafe in the summer of 2018.
Albert says they have 52 bridges in the municipality and it needed the most work. She says this past May, their dream became a reality.
Albert says upper tier government is important to be able to do infrastructure projects like the boundary bridge.
Albert commented on the great efforts of MPP Daryl Kramp and former MP Mike Bossio to get dollars for Tweed.
She says now that the federal election is over, she looks forward to discussions with new member Derek Sloan.
