Two Trenton men were charged by Belleville police after attempts to avoid RIDE checkpoints overnight (Friday/Saturday).
Just before midnight officers pulled over a vehicle as the driver tried to avoid the RIDE program at Old Highway 2 and Mitchell Road.
The 30-year-old driver was given a three-day licence suspension for driving under the influence of cannabis and having cannabis readily available.
And just before 2 o’clock this morning (Saturday), a 47-year-old driver was stopped attempting to avoid a RIDE check and he lost his licence for three days for alcohol consumption.
Belleville police stopped 313 vehicles at various RIDE check locations.
