The lunch rush at a downtown Brighton pizzeria came to a halt this morning.
Around 11:30, a pickup truck crashed into the takeout part of Vito’s Pizzeria located at 36 Prince Edward Street.
Emergency personnel responded to the scene and it is reported four people were assessed for minor injuries.
Northumberland OPP closed Prince Edward Street at Elizabeth Street while crews assessed patients.
Police reported via Twitter the driver of the truck ended up hitting the building in an effort to avoid a serious collision with another vehicle that had disobeyed a traffic light.
Charges are expected.
