A female driver was seriously hurt and taken to hospital via Ornge air ambulance this morning (Wednesday).
She had been involved in a single vehicle collision on Highway 401 west near Trenton. That collision closed 401 west for a while but a single lane was opened around 9 o’clock.
At the same time that collision occurred, there was another less serious single vehicle crash on 401 eastbound in the same area.
Black ice was forming, along with some snowfall, and collisions occurred throughout the region.
A three-vehicle collision snarled traffic for a while at Dundas West and Bay Bridge Road in Belleville as well. There were serious no injuries there.
And around 10 o’clock this morning the Rednersville Road between Bay Breeze Street and County Road 23 was closed after another collision.
