After 11 years and two appeals to provincial planning authorities, a housing development in Brighton known as Lakeside Landing has received final approval.
Brighton council approved the final Plan of Subdivision at a meeting last night (Monday).
The development between Lakeshore and Lakehurst roads in Brighton will feature nine houses and 36 semi-detached homes.
The subdivision, owned by former mayor of Brighton Mark Walas, will be served by a low gravity sewer treatment system which the province’s Local Planning Appeal Tribunal ruled would work as well as a traditional municipal sewer system.
Meanwhile Brighton council is close to approving the sale of more land in its expanded industrial park.
At its meeting next week council will be asked to approve the sale of three lots in the park to one buyer.
Details on the transaction won’t be known until next week’s regular council meeting.
