A 31-year-old man has been charged after a crash in Stone Mills Township yesterday afternoon, where one driver left the scene.
Lennox and Addington OPP say around 3:30, a pickup truck went into a ditch on Breen Road and while the driver was trying to back out, hit another vehicle travelling north, before driving away.
The driver was stopped by police on Tower Road a short time later and officers say he showed signs that he had been drinking, despite refusing to provide a breath sample.
Kevin Morey of Stone Mills Township is charged with failing to remain at a crash and refusing to provide a breath sample, under the Criminal Code and is also facing Highway Traffic Act charges of driving with unsealed liquor, careless driving and refusing to show a driver’s licence.
He was released with a court date in Napanee on New Year’s Eve.
