The Trenton Golden Hawks improved their win streak to six games last night with a 3-1 win over the Whitby Fury on home ice.
Anand Oberoi was the difference maker for the Hawks making 24 saves on 25 shots including a couple of momentum changing saves.
Samuel Duchesne, Matt Nastasiuk and Wyatt George scored the Golden Hawk goals while Kyle Robinson pitched in off the blue line with two assists for Trenton who is now two points up on the Wellington Dukes for top spot in the OJHL standings.
The Golden Hawks now have a week off before hosting the North York Rangers at the Hanger on Friday, Dec. 13.
The Wellington Dukes were also in action last night on the road in Burlington losing 6-3.
The Dukes piled 40 shots on Cougar goaltender Zach Deitz but were only able to score three times.
Ben Woodhouse, Justin Paul and Dan Panetta scored the goals for Wellington, Dawson Ellis recorded two assists and Matt Keeley allowed 5 goals on 32 shots in net for the loss.
Wellington is back in action today in Georgetown against the Raiders at 7:30 p.m.
With a win the Dukes can move back into a tie with the Hawks. Wellington currently has one game in hand.
