Belleville city council will be asked to approve changes to the fees and charges the city levies for its many services and facilities at its meeting Monday.
Not all fees have changed but many have for services and facilities offered by the Engineering and Development Services, Recreation, Culture, and Community Services, and Fire and Emergency Services departments.
Developers will see initial fees to apply for site plan approval doubling and an application to extend draft plan approvals will move up to $2,000 from the current $500.
As far as recreation is concerned there’ll be no change in ice rental rates or aquatic centre rentals, but there will be slight increases in the rates charged for the use of fields and city-owned halls.
The fire department is proposing two new fees, those being on responding to natural gas incidents and open air burning permit violations.
If passed, the department would charge $485 per incident.
