The Buffalo Junior Sabres scored two unanswered goals in the third period to beat the visiting Dukes 7-5.
Penalties were costly as Buffalo scored 3 times on nine power play chances.
Jake Gagnon scored twice with an assist. Gagnon leads Wellington with 27 goals and 47 points in 31 games. Dawson Ellis and Quinn Hanna added a goal and assist. Jacob Vreugdenhil scored the other.
Matthew Dunsmoor stopped 29 shots.
The Dukes record is 24-5-2 for 50 points. They’re tied with the Trenton Golden Hawks for the best record in the OJHL.
Wellington is at Burlington tomorrow night while the Golden Hawks entertain Whitby in Trenton.
