A group of people opposed to the teachers’ union’s stance in current contract negotiations with the provincial government will be holding a protest this afternoon (Thursday).
The Napanee area group believe the unions have bullied taxpayers for far too long and have held children hostage while causing chaos for parents and businesses by strikes and disruptions over the past many years.
It feels the unions are not bargaining in good faith and say Ontario’s teachers are among the highest paid.
A protest is planned for 2:30 today in Napanee’s Market Square and another one is slated for 11 a.m. Saturday, also in Market Square.
