Two men and a woman face weapons and drug charges after a high-risk vehicle stop by Belleville police yesterday (Tuesday) morning.
Officers initially responded to a robbery in progress at a Cannifton Road home at 6:21 in the morning where a woman had been robbed of her cell phone. Police learned the robbery had been committed with a firearm and that three suspects had left in a taxi and may be heading to Quinte West.
Police stopped the cab on Dundas Street West, arrested the suspects and seized a sawed-off shotgun and illegal drugs.
Charged are 23-year-old Damion Alexander Rout, 38-year-old Michael Paul Mercer and 42-year-old Sherry Jeanen Clark, all of Belleville.
They are in for a bail hearing today. No one was injured.

Possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine and crystal methamphetamine)
Both Rout and Mercer are also charged with Possession of a firearm or ammunition.
