Classes won’t be in session in public high schools in our listening area and across Ontario today.
Thousands of public high school teachers are holding a one-day strike.
The Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation confirmed the job action in a news conference late last night. However, in schools which offer grades 7 and 8, those classes will be open as usual although parents and students should expect picket lines.
Secondary schools which offer only grades 9 through 12 will be closed today.
Catholic secondary schools will be open as teachers there are in a separate union.
