Quinte West OPP have laid a Highway Traffic Act charge after a transport collided with the CP Rail bridge on 2nd Dug Hill Road on Tuesday afternoon.
The collision occurred around 3:15 p.m. when the northbound transport struck the low bridge and became lodged.
The road was closed until 8:30 p.m. say police.
No injuries were reported.
Police say they will continue to work closely with the city and railway in an attempt to prevent transports from travelling on 2nd Dug Hill Road.
According to the OPP there were nine similar collisions in 2018.
