While none of the collisions on Highway 401 in this area were nearly as serious as the one in the Kingston area, local paramedics, police, and firefighters were kept on the run.
Quinte West Fire Chief John Whalen says that between 2 and 6 yesterday (Sunday) afternoon his crews responded to four separate collisions, two on the eastbound 401 and two on the westbound lanes.
While people were taken to hospital none of the injuries were life threatening.
At last check Highway 401 in the Quinte region was open to traffic.
