A former mayor of Belleville is the latest person to be sworn in as an Honorary Colonel at CFB Trenton.
Ross McDougall is assuming the role as 8 Air Maintenance Squadron Honorary Colonel, taking over for Samuel Reid, who has held the position since 2012.
During an event Monday afternoon at the National Air Force Museum, McDougall said of the accolades he has received in his life, this takes the cake.
He says sometimes we forget what we have right here in the community.
McDougall is the owner of McDougall Insurance and Financial, the former mayor of Belleville, and supports dozens of community groups, agencies, organizations, and charities.
Head of 8 Air Maintenance Squadron Lieutenant-Colonel Brian Tang says the Honorary Colonel position is critical to the success of the institution.
Sam Reid has been the Honorary Colonel for 8 Air Maintenance Squadron since 2012. The member of the rock band Glass Tiger gave his support to McDougall.
