5 a.m. MONDAY UPDATE: HIGHWAY 401 WEST AT KINGSTON IS OPEN TO TRAFFIC
One person was killed and 16 others injured in a massive multi-vehicle collision on Highway 401 west in the Kingston area yesterday afternoon (Sunday).
OPP estimated that between 30 and 40 vehicles including some tractor trailers were involved in the pile-up.
The collision occurred around 2:30 during blizzard conditions. According to the Kingston Whig Standard, three of the 16 injured suffered life threatening injuries.
