Belleville Police Service responded to 65 calls for service from November 29, 2019 at 5 a.m. to November 30, 2019 at 5 a.m.
Domestic assault
On November 29, 2019 shortly after 7 a.m., police responded to a disturbance at a west end residence between two people, one of which had been released shortly after 6 a.m. after spending the night in cells for public intoxication. Police investigation resulted in a 41-year-old Belleville man being arrested at 1 p.m. in Trenton for two counts of assault and mischief. He is being held in custody for a video remand hearing on November 30. Names are being withheld to protect the identity of the victim and family.
Police begin holiday RIDE campaign
On November 29, 2019, Belleville Police began their 2019 holiday RIDE campaign. Police checked 240 vehicles and administered two roadside breath tests. There were no charges laid.
