The City of Belleville, the City of Quinte West, and Brighton all received some Christmas spirit on Thursday, as the Canadian Pacific Railway Holiday Train rolled through town.
Country music singer Madeline Merlo and pop-artist Scott Helman performed for thousands of local residents.
At each stop, CPR made donations to local food banks. $7,000 went to the Gleaners Food Bank and the Tri-County Warehouse in Belleville. The Trenton Care and Share Food Bank received $5,000, while the Brighton Fare Share Food Bank also collected $5,000.
Those who attended the performances brought hundreds of pounds of food as well.
