A woman who went back to college and changed careers was honored at a meeting of Quinte Health Care’s Board of Directors Tuesday.
Registered Practical Nurse at Prince Edward County Memorial hospital Sarah Monroe was presented with a “Values in Action” award by QHC Board member Nancy Evans.
Monroe began her career in the dietary department at the hospital before retraining and coming back as “a gem of a nurse” according to PECMH Site Lead and Manager of Patient Services Lisa Mowbray.
She was described as skilled, compassionate and enthusiastic in her work.
