The Belleville Police Service will have a new tool to improve its response to missing person cases and other major events.
Today (Monday) the Police Services Board approved $37,000 to buy a new drone. The new one provides images with much more resolution than the service’s current drone and can detect very slight changes in temperatures.

The service’s current drone has been deployed 31 times and has been used in homicide, missing person and arson cases, and at major events such as during the recent spring flooding and in Quinte West when the Trent River overflowed its banks at Glen Miller.
