The Belleville Senators put forward a dominant effort on the road last night in Binghamton on route to a 6-3 win over the Devils.
The B-Sens came into last night’s game with four defencemen injured and three regular blue liners up with the Ottawa Senators, leaving them just two regulars from the D-core in the lineup.
However, Vitaly Abramov powered the Sens offence with two goals and two assists playing alongside Drake Batherson who scored once and picked up three assists. Captain Jordan Szwarz notched a goal and an assist while rookie forwards Alex Formenton and Josh Norris provided the other Sens goals.
Abramov says he is starting to find chemistry with linemates Batherson and Norris.
Belleville quickly fell behind just 1:29 into the first period, but came back to score four unanswered goals to take control of the game.
Marcus Hogberg made 24 saves on 27 shots in net for the win.
For Belleville that puts an end to a two game losing streak and brings them back above the 500. mark at 9-8-1 on the season. Winning by three goals is also the Senators most dominant win of the season.
The B-Sens continue their weekend road trip tonight with a stop in Lehigh Valley against the Phantoms at 7:05 p.m. You can catch the action on 800 CJBQ starting at 6:50 p.m.
