Man determined to be arrested.
Belleville ON, On 21 November at 12:30 pm a male entered the court house on Bridge Street West and approached officers in the building and handed over two knives. The male stated that he was on a weapons prohibition related to other criminal convictions, and he wanted to be arrested. The male then exited the court house and proceeded to jump on the hood of a police cruiser causing damage. The male, a 25-year-old Belleville man, was arrested and was held for a bail hearing on 22 November. His name is being withheld until his bail hearing.
Ice damages vehicle
Belleville ON, On 21 November 2019 police received a report about damage to a vehicle. Police were informed that three males were walking passed a vehicle parked in the parking lot of 170 North Front Street. The males reportedly threw ice at the vehicle causing a dent on the hood. The males then fled the area. Any witnesses to the incident are asked to call Belleville Police.
Arrested on warrants during traffic stop.
Belleville ON, On 22 November at 2:05am police stopped a vehicle on Cannifton Road suspecting that the driver had been drinking. The driver, a 39-year-old Belleville woman, provided a breath sample into a roadside screening device and was issued a 3-day license suspension. While on the stop, police recognized the passenger of the vehicle as 39 year of Sarah Hilts of Belleville who was wanted for failing to attend court. She was arrested and later released with a court date on 5 December 2019.
