High winds over the next couple of days have prompted Quinte Conservation to issue a water safety statement for Lake Ontario and the Bay of Quinte.
High winds with gusts up to 80 km/h, are expected along with rain and high waves throughout the region tonight and into Friday morning. Waves reaching 4 metres have been predicted.
There is a possibility for localized flooding and shoreline erosion.
Staff will continue to monitor conditions and will provide an update if forecasts and conditions change.
