National home improvement retailer Lowe’s Canada is closing 34 underperforming stores nationwide.
Lowe’s also owns and operates RONA home improvement outlets, among other brands.
Fortunately none of the closures will occur in the Quinte region.
The closest store to close will be RONA in Oshawa.
The closures and restructuring will lead to an undetermined number of layoffs.
Under all of its business banners Lowe’s has 28,000 employees in Canada.
