Centre Hastings council has approved rezoning for a small marijuana growing and processing operation of six acres of land northeast of Ivanhoe.
Mayor of Centre Hastings Tom Deline say several people, most who live near the land which borders on Ray and Twiddy Roads, objected to the rezoning worrying about traffic, smells, and water supply.
However Deline saysa marijuana growing and growing operation is legal and council and Health Canada have set a long list of conditions that Don DeWolfe will have to satisfy before final approval will be given.
Anyone opposed to the rezoning has 20 days to appeal council’s decision to the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal.
