Local business people and volunteers were honoured by the Association of Fundraising Professionals-Southeastern Chapter at an awards ceremony celebrating National Philanthropy Day yesterday (Tuesday).
The nominations were made by the Belleville General Hospital Foundation.
McDougall Insurance & Financial won for “Outstanding Corporation-100 Employees or more”. The company has donated finances and volunteer support for years throughout this part of the province.
Other local people and businesses nominated for awards were Impacto Products-99 Employees or fewer.
Nominated for Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser were Brad Williams and Lisa McAuley.
Williams is the founder and title sponsor of Fairways for Fractures, a golf event raising money for a new fracture clinic at Belleville General.
Lisa McAuley is the founder and organzier for Gee’s Walk, a two day 53 km walk for cancer care at BGH.
Belleville General Hospital Foundation Senior Development Officer Penny Banks was nominated as an Outstanding Fundraising Professional.
Maurice Rollins was nominated as Oustanding Philanthropist for his lifetime of giving to the Foundation and many other charities.
