Motor Vehicle Collisions
On November 11, 2019, police responded to 15 motor vehicle collisions around the City. Several were minor in nature and were referred to the Collision Reporting Centre. The following collisions required investigations:
At 8:30 a.m. police attended on Hwy 2 at Wallbridge-Loyalist Road as a school bus had been rear-ended. The bus was empty at the time and there were no injuries.
At 8:35 a.m. police attended on Sidney Street at Cloverleaf Drive as a car slid off the roadway and struck the guide wire of a hydro pole. There were no injuries.
At 3:12 p.m. police attended on College Street East with regards to a two-vehicle collision. One motorist was charged with careless driving. There were no injuries.
At 4:04 p.m. police attended on College Street West at Frank Street regarding a three-vehicle collision. The first car slid into a pole. The second car also slid into the pole and another vehicle. A Bell box was also destroyed. EMS transported one person to the hospital with minor injuries.
At 6:35 p.m. police attended on North Front Street north of College Street as a car had slid off the roadway and struck a pole. There were no injuries.
At 7:10 p.m. police attended on Cannifton Road at College Street East regarding a two-vehicle collision. Both drivers were charged in this incident. An 18-year-old woman was charged with failing to afford reasonable opportunity to avoid a collision. A 33-year-old man was charged with driving while under suspension. He will appear in court on December 2nd, 2019.
At 8:50 p.m. police attended on Lane Avenue. A vehicle had slid off the roadway and crashed through a retaining wall. The vehicle continued into a parked unoccupied car. This parked car was pushed into another parked car. There were no reported injuries.
Traffic Enforcement
On November 11, 2019, at 11:35 a.m., a traffic stop resulted in a 25-year-old female being charged with having an improper valtag sticker and no valid insurance. Her car was towed.
On November 11, 2019, at 1:15 p.m., a traffic stop resulted in a 29-year-old male being charged with driving while under suspension.
On November 11, 2019, at 10:15 p.m., a traffic stop on N. Park Street resulted in charges against a 20-year-old male. He will appear in court on December 2, 2019 on charges of using an unauthorized licence plate, no permit, no valid insurance and G1 driver unaccompanied by a licensed person.
