An investigation continues regarding a suspicious fire last night (Friday) near a busy intersection in Belleville.
Shortly after 10 o’clock city firefighters were called out after smoke was seen billowing from a house at 656 Sidney Street, just south of Bell Boulevard.
The small older wood frame house was vacant at the time and while it remains standing it suffered a lot of damage to the interior. No one was injured.
The house is one of three that would be demolished to make room for a four-building apartment complex totalling 94 units.
