The Wellington Dukes continue to win. The Dukes took advantage of home ice last night (Friday) and beat Mississauga 3 to 1 to win their eighth game straight.
Scoring for Wellington were Daniel Panetta and Frank Vitucci with Jake Gagnon potting an empty netter near the end of the game.
Neither team had any luck on the power play with Mississauga going zero for five and the Dukes zero for six.
The game was played in front of 563 fans.
Wellington goalie Matthew Dunsmoor has been named the team’s Player of the Month for October. He played 5 games and has recorded one shutout and sports a measly 1.71 goals against average.
Trenton and the Wellington Dukes are now tied on top of the OJHL’s East Division with 37 points each but the Golden Hawks have played 3 more games.
