(PICTON, ON) – Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Prince Edward County Detachment would like to remind residents to stay alert online. With several reports of varying fraud attempts, it is crucial to keep safety in mind when online.
In 2018, the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre received 56,009 fraud reports from consumers and businesses. The total reported losses were $97,654,160.35.

Things to keep in mind while online:
-Do not use the same password for every application
-Do not store log in credentials on public computers
-Do not reuse passwords
-Do not share personal information like PIN, SIN, or credit card information
-Never voluntarily give out family members’ names or information
These scammers a re clever and will target individuals and businesses.
