The Belleville Police Service responded to 56 calls between November 7, 2019 at 5 a.m. and November 8, 2019 at 5 a.m.
Breach of Recognizance
On November 7, 2019, a complaint was received about a youth breaching bail conditions. At 2:10 p.m. the youth was located in the city’s north end and was placed under arrest for breach of recognizance and held for a bail hearing. The youth cannot be named under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
Police continue to deal with non-emergency 911 calls
Belleville Police continue to deal with a large volume of non-emergency or pocket dial 911 calls. Belleville Police received 10 non-emergency 911 calls over the past 24 hours, the majority of which were dialed in error. Police are asking the public to be cognizant of emergency calls made on their cell phones as the lines are required to remain open for emergency purposes.
Other assistance
Police were kept busy throughout the previous 24-hour period responding to unwanted persons, domestic disputes, assisting ambulance, 911 hangups and a number of motor vehicle collisions.
