A former director of the Prince Edward County Children’s Aid Society will stand trial on criminal negligence causing bodily harm and failing to provide the necessaries of life charges in the fall of next year.
William Sweet, 68, from Picton, was charged on 10 counts in the spring of 2018.
The charges related to incidents involving children placed in various foster homes in the county betwwen 2002 and 2010.
His judge-only trial in Superior Court will begin on September 8, and seven weeks has been set aside for it with the trial pausing the week of September 21.
Pre-trial motions will be heard over three days starting January 22.
