The City of Belleville could own another piece of property as early as next week.
On Monday, the Board of Directors of the Hastings Prince Edward District School Board will vote on a staff recommendation to sell the Hillcrest elementary school to the city for $800,000.
Hillcrest School was declared surplus to the board’s needs in the spring of last year.
Mayor of Belleville Mitch Panciuk has said the city was interested in acquiring it and the vacant Quinte Secondary School property.
In the past the mayor has said the Hillcrest property could be used for both recreational and residential use.
Hillcrest School is located just east of Cannifton Road and north of College Street East.
