Quinte West council will make a donation of $80,000 to help the new so-called “health hub” near Trenton Memorial Hospital become a reality.
The $80,000 will essentially be taken from the $84,000 that the lead agency in the health hub, Belleville Quinte West Community Health Centre, is paying in development charges to the city. However, if there are contaminants found on the property, the cost to remove them will be subtracted from the donation.
The money would be used for furnishings, landscaping and other items not directly connected to health care.
A tender call is out for the construction of the health hub.
