A Quinte West resident wants to help the homeless in the area. Brad Denoon spoke to Quinte West council Monday night saying it’s up to the community to deal with a very serious and growing homelessness problem as shelters are closing and funding from the federal government has been dropping.
Under the Chrysalis program, the homeless being housed in sea containers would also be educated in various life skills such a budgeting, job searching, and eating properly.
Denoon is asking for a letter of support from Quinte West council and the use of the city’s website to post a survey on homelessness.
Council is asking for a staff report on the issue.
