The Belleville Police Service responded to 58 calls for service between October 19, 2019 at 5 a.m. and October 20, 2019 at 5 a.m.
Theft from vehicle
On October 19, 2019, at 10 a.m., police received a call with regard to a theft from a vehicle in the No Frills parking lot. The unknown suspect entered a silver Ford Explorer while the owner was shopping. Several items were taken from the vehicle. Tanker truck hits light pole
On October 19, 2019, at 2:15 p.m., police received a call with regard to a tanker truck striking a light pole at Pinnacle Street and Dundas Street East. Police were able to locate the truck after ensuring the pole was not a hazard to the public. A 56-year-old Belleville man was charged with failing to report a collision.
Arrested on warrants
On October 20, 2019 at 3:50 a.m., police received a call to a west end address regarding an intoxicated male causing a disturbance. Upon arrival, police were informed that the male had fled on a bike as he was aware that he was wanted on outstanding warrants for breaching his probation. Police were able to track the male to another address and located him in the basement. Zachary Green, 22, of Belleville, was arrested and held for a bail hearing.
