There was a serious incident in the Cannifton Road area of Belleville early last evening (Wednesday).
Paramedics, firefighters and city police responded to a robbery at Ro’s General Store shortly before 7 o’clock after receiving a 911 call.
Two men had sprayed an employee in the store with an unknown substance and when he followed them outside there was an altercation and the employee was stabbed and taken to Kingston General Hospital with serious injuries. According to Scan-Quinte the employee was in his 50s.
A GoFundMe page has been set up to support the victim’s recovery.
The men drove away going south on Cannifton Road North in what was believed to be a dark colored Hyundai car.
The first male suspect is described as tall with a thin build, wearing red pants with a white stripe, a camouflaged hoodie, and carrying a dark coloured bag. The description of the second male is limited to just dark clothing.
