There was a major fire that could be seen far and wide in Prince Edward County early this morning (Wednesday).
Firefighters and equipment from five fire halls responded just after 5 o’clock in the morning to the heart of the hamlet of Ameliasburgh near Roblin Lake.
They arrived to find two houses and a vehicle fully engulfed in flames.
Fortunately the residents of the houses escaped without injury.
County Fire Chief Scott Manlow says their aerial ladder truck was instrumental in keeping propane tanks on site from exploding and kept flames from spreading further.
Firefighters will be on scene all day and an investigation into a cause will begin as soon as it’s safe to do so.
