Traffic Enforcement results in charges
On October 10, 2019 at 12:31 p.m., police conducted a traffic stop at Dundas Street East and Newberry Street. An investigation ensued where police learned the driver was prohibited from driving and was found to be breaching his probation. As a result, a 24-year-old Belleville male was arrested and charged with Driving while Prohibited and Breach of Probation x 3. He was transported to the Belleville Police Service where he was released on a Promise to appear.
Shoplifter Charged
On October 10, 2019 at 7 p.m., police responded to a business on Millennium Parkway regarding a shoplifting theft. After a short foot pursuit, a 30-year-old male was arrested and charged with theft under $5000. He was transported to the Belleville Police Service where he was later released on a Promise to Appear; given a court date November 7, 2019 to face the charge.
