Members of the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre out of CFB Trenton are working to plan the pick-up of four boaters who are stranded in an isolated area in Nunavut.
The JRCC dispatched a C-130H Hercules from 435 Squadron in Winnipeg to search for the people, who were stranded onboard an overdue vessel and eventually made it to shore, but weren’t in an area where the aircraft could land.
The Hercules crew dropped supplies to ensure their health and safety while the rescue operation is coordinated, and more details will be released as the operation continues.
