Only the chimney was left standing after a suspicious fire destroyed an abandoned house near Rice Lake last night (Saturday).
According to Today’s Northumberland the fire broke out around 7 o’clock east of Harwood.
There was no electricity running to the house and the cause is unknown. The Ontario Fire Marshal has been called to help with an investigation.
This is the fouth suspicious fire in the area in the past several months.
Alnwick/Haldimand and Hamilton Township fire departments responded.
