With pressure coming from Quinte Region mayors, to immediately lower water levels on Lake Ontario and the St. Lawrence River, the International Joint Commission is seeking input on the flooding issue from residents.
The IJC, which controls water levels across the great lakes, is asking residents to share their comments and photos through an online survey, which is being promoted by Quinte Conservation.
QC’s water resources manager Christine McClure says it’s extremely important that residents who have been affected by flooding fill out the survey, so they can have their concerns heard.
A similiar study was conducted in 2017 and only 299 Ontario residents submitted their feedback to the IJC.
You can complete the survey by clicking here, with the data collected being used by the IJC to evaluate and improve its scientific and engineering models.
