The colder temperatures are returning, which means winter, which means cold and flu season.
The Hastings Prince Edward Public Health community flu shot clinics are back again and Dr. Piotr Oglaza stressed the importance of people getting a flu shot.
He says by getting a flu shot you are creating what he calls a cocooning effect.
Dr. Oglaza did note that flu shots at pharmacies are for those between the age of 5-65. He said community clinics and doctors’ offices will give flu shots to those as young as six months.
He said it also takes two weeks for the flu shot to take effect.
